This Week’s Farm Update
Almost all of the items in our farm boxes will be coming from our farm this week, signaling the bounty of fall! 🍂 We are celebrating our first harvest of this season with boxes of delicata squash, butternut squash, and corn, creating a quintessential fall feel. The corn is sweet and easy to eat without even cooking it! However, it will be the last corn of this crop.
As we transition to new garden staff, we have been deep cleaning spaces and reimagining others. Our slicing cucumbers have succumbed to insect and disease pressure, so we have planted and will continue to plant fava beans as a cover crop to fix nitrogen back into the soil.
We are working on a switch over to automated watering systems to become more efficient, and we pulled out a bicycle seeder this week that had been growing spiderwebs, saving us hours of turning over rows.
We’re starting another round of brassicas by seed (broccoli, cauliflower, kale, kohlrabi), which do really well over winter in our cool microclimate, along with bulbs, leafy greens, and root veggies.

Check out what’s inside this week’s box, discover the value of the items and how to keep them fresh, and see our curated recipe using items in this week’s harvest!
